She speaks just before Bidens acceptance speech. I think that the DNC speaker schedule gives away the VP pick.
Ill admit I was pretty sure it was Rice. Either way Im happy with the choice.

(11,660 posts)Doesnt the #1 want his #2 to be someone who aspired to that herself?! If she thought she could win, he can believe that at least SHE thinks shed be ready on Day 1.

(4,921 posts)You remember, the VP during the Benghazi deal.
It's just like how so many said it couldn't be Sanders because then all we would hear is that the Dem nominee is a socialist. Spoilers: Biden is now a socialist that is going to get rid of god. The R's have no shame and they will do shitty things regardless. We need the best person and not the one that we think they will go after the least.

(1,184 posts)It's just a schedule, one they can change whenever. Also, Harris was a major presidential candidate and is a big figure in the party. It would be strange if she weren't included on the schedule.
Also, they wouldn't just give it away like this. They control these announcements so closely that they're not about to show their cards through the DNC speaker schedule.

(18,486 posts)The Biden people know what they're doing. they're not going to keep everything close to the vest as well as they have and then slip up by putting something in the convention schedule that gives the game away before they're ready.
The schedule means nothing when it comes to who the VP pick is.

(1,184 posts)Kamala speaking on Thursday didn't tell us anything. VPs speak on the second-to-last night traditionally. Not sure what point you're trying to make and what you find so funny.

(1,184 posts)Just that the DNC speaking schedule was not indicative of that. I don't see how you can't understand that.
OK, now I'm *really* done

StarfishSaver
(18,486 posts)First of all, the schedule changes after the VP nominee is chosen.
Also, if you look at the schedule, the VP pick TBD speaks on Wednesday evening, the night before Biden speaks.
In 2008, the preliminary DNC schedule had Biden speaking earlier in the night before the VP acceptance speech. That, of course, changed after he became the nominee.
This preliminary schedule tells us nothing about the VP pick.

(18,486 posts)Kamala Harris being slotted to speak on Thursday night did not tell us she would be his VP pick. It also didn't indicate she wouldn't be. In other words, as I said, it told us nothing.
Now that Harris is his pick, she will be moved out of that slot and given the Wednesday night speaking slot where, as the VP designe, she will accept the nomination.
Not sure why any of that cracks you up, but whatever ...
