(86,646 posts)Already have planned, I just would rather have seen a different person as the running mate for professional reasons. I don;t doubt that Sen. Harris will live up to the task, I just feel she would have been a better fit elsewhere.

(86,646 posts)I don't get where the vast number of deaths associated with a pandemic has anything to do with my preference for the VP candidate or where it should have been the deciding factor in my preference.
Where did you come up with that?
You go do your happy dance and realize that your judgement of me based on my VP candidate preference means nothing to anyone but you.

(10,885 posts)We all have opinions, and sometimes we just have to go with the flow. Hopefully your favorite will enjoy a successful fit elsewhere in Joe's administration. The Dems are wealthy with talent these days!

(86,646 posts)Berni bro... Harris was my first choice in the primary, I just feel that Rice would have been a better fit as VP. Now, I'd be okay with Rice as Sec of State as I had hoped she'd be if not picked for VP. I still would have liked Rice as VP.
It's not like anything I've ever wanted ever happened or anything, story of my life... which will be over soon enough if I'm lucky.
Totally Tunsie
(10,885 posts)It wouldn't be a surprise to see her slotted as Sec. of State.
2naSalit
(86,646 posts)with Rice as VP but she's got lots of international credibility and could help mend our standing in the world. It takes a level headed individual with compassion to be an Ambassador, as Rice was, which is one main reason I wanted her as VP. But she can use those skills as Sec. of State in a major way.

And why should anyone wait to say that they are disappointed? I agree with the OP.
Your happy isn't how everyone feels about this. It's not like our feelings matter to anyone who made the selection. I just feel that tere was another candidate who would have been a better fit for the task at hand.

Importantly, he's decided she can be the strong, loyal workmate he needs and able to be seen as a future president if it came to it. So that's it.

(86,646 posts)I just had hoped for a different person on the ticket, not looking for perfection, I just had a different preference.
I guess we all have to be happy happy and the world is all better now. Seems to be the only thing we can discuss now or else there's something wrong with those of us who had a different preference than Sen. Harris now. I guess all that's left for me and my life is to go harass some tourists or something.

(86,646 posts)I'm also disappointed, I'll still support the ticket but I had hoped for someone else to fill that spot. And so disappointment ensues.
Why is only okay for those who wanted Harris to be jubilant but nobody else is allowed to see things differently? How does that work out for inclusion?
You may think this thread is a downer but perhaps it's small stuff compared to the hopes and aspirations of others for our country to succeed.

As a gambler I would have totally ignored fear and made the bold pick toward the superior candidate.
Kamala Harris is a perfectly fine safe strategic choice. She'll do great during this campaign and debate. I just don't want her atop the ticket at any point. But no need to harp on any of that. Time to win 2020.

(8,678 posts)I would have been happy with any of the great ladies being considered as VP. It would not matter a bit who my favorite was. I would find something positive to say about Joe's pick and get excited about her. This is about winning and survival of our country and possibly the world. Get over your personal feelings. There is no room for negativity now.
