She was a conservative Baptist, Billy Graham acolyte. But she passed in 1976.

She was prejudiced. Nuts about her church. etc.
We'd been working on her since the 60s.

Decades passed, she gradually loosened up some.

But then along came Barack Obama ...

Every day, she would get up and HAVE to get her dose of Barack - in the news somehow.

She came to just adore him.

One of her last acts was for Barack and her to teach us that people can change.

as a kid in the 70's . It was my parents sometimes-substitute for making us go to church.

From what I remember then, and Graham's actions later, I don't think he was anywhere near as bad as his asshole greedy son or the other televangelists that followed. They saw the cash cow that sincere followers of Jesus Christ (Billy Graham & Robert Schuler) did not exploit.

Graham & Shuler were nothing like Franklin Graham, Dodson, Robertson, Tiller, or Oral Roberts.

Shuler was kicked out because he spoke up against the brazen fleecing being done by the likes of Falwell et al.

I'd personally prefer that no religious types have any influence whatsoever in politics or the lives of anyone not in their church. I just wouldn't lump those two in with the crowd of thieves
