President Donald Trump appeared to admit he is attempting to undermine the U.S. Postal Service by blocking funding for the agency, which is expected to deal with a rush of mail-in ballots during this election season.
Now they need that money in order to make the post office work so it can take all of these millions and millions of ballots, he said Thursday in an interview on Fox Business. But if they dont get those two items, that means you cant have universal mail-in voting.

They dont have the money to do the universal mail-in voting. So therefore, they cant do it, I guess, right? Trump said. Are they going to do it, even if they dont have the money?
He also claimed the election would be the great rigged election in history and one of the greatest frauds in history.

(44,973 posts)He flat out admits it. If post office has money, it can deliver ballots. If it has no money, it can't deliver ballots. Trump doesn't want post office to get any stimulus funding. We should just impeach him again.

I'm surprised that big business isn't screaming already about these delays (besides voters who fear tampering of their mail by trump's thugs.)

(1,332 posts)There's no "seemingly" about. He said the quiet part out loud. What's interesting is that more repubs than democrats vote by mail. Do you really think any high-powered CEO or politician or businessman is going to stand in
line with the rest of us?

But yesterday I had to ask an agent at American Express to waive a late fee because they did not receive our payment, mailed on July 30 with five other payments - all delivered.
This is a vicious circle: people do not get their mail or their payments are lost, so they switch to online transactions, further lowering payments to the postal service.
Spouse's Medicare Advantage closed its pharmacy service, so now prescriptions are coming from Florida (to Minnesota) and, if one believe their "ship date" some have taken more than a month. There is an alternative to the postal service which will cost more but, at least until January 21st - fingers crossed - we may choose that alternative.
