(11,566 posts)The numbers dont support them, as they are a minority party. With mail-in voting, more Americans votes are counted and Republicans tend to lose.

(15,646 posts)people have the option to vote by mail. So hes counting on more votes being suppressed among likely Democratic voters via mail in as well as physical, regulatory or other logistical suppression tactics than will be the case among likely R voters. There wont be a lot of no mailin voter suppression in districts that are dominantly red.

Fuck Trump. I am prepared to stand in line with a mask.

(1,086 posts)Democratic voters are much more closely packed together. With Covid and the normal GOP suppression of closing polling stations it makes actual voting much more difficult.
In a rural county it is much harder to justify closing polling stations because of distance.

(7,800 posts)Possibly as simple as that.
Without Russian interference, Trump has no chance (and the GOP has no chance of hanging on to the Senate).

(34,857 posts)We saw it during the primary in Wisconsin and Georgia. Polling places are being shut down due to. The pandemic, which means a lot of larger cities will have fewer polling locations. If people are forced to vote on election day, it will mean a much larger crowd and longer wait. People waited up to five and nine hours to vote in a primary, with likely half the turnout of a presidential election.
If Democrats are forced to vote in person, we'll lose the election because of it.
Unfortunately, a lot of people are advocating voting in person now because of the post office issues but there are ways to combat that even before election day:
1. Early voting. Know when your state begins it so you can utilize it in-person if needed.
2. Request your ballot ASAP. Get it as quickly as possible.
3. Mail your ballot ASAP. There's no reason to wait. If you are concerned, drop it off.
4. If you can't do any of that, vote in person on election day but be aware you'll probably be waiting over an hour, if not five.
