What can democrats do about Trumps interference with mail in voting?

What can democrats do about Trumps interference with mail in voting?

Asking people to vote to change Trump out for Biden then Trump interferes with voting by mail sounds like a disaster.

Can they hold hearings and enforce subpoena's ?

When the president admits on TV he'll cheat then takes actions on cheating what are people going to do come Nov 20-ish when they see the suppression in front of them?

Thx in advance for any input

ok, they wanna take away mail in voting...fine, switch to drop boxes and in person early voting. Limit mail in balloting to those too infirmed, poor or COVID risky to leave the house.

We provide guidance on the location in each country.

We provide rides if allowed, or fuck pay for a cab or uber if we need to.

Time to stop focusing on what they are doing, and start gaming out what we can do.

1. Limit mail in ballots to people who are too infirmed, poor or COVID risky to do other alternatives. Train them on how to fill out the ballot properly though and all the ways the ballot can be rejected.

2. Emphasize EARLY in person voting and ballot drop off locations as less risky COVID alternatives to same day voting.

For example, absentee voting was illegal in VA in all but the most extreme cases, until this year (after we flipped the legislature in 2019). It's all new to me and I have been studying every word they say, and watching it CHANGE in real time. I've requested my ballot online, and plan to hand-deliver it, to the County Registrar.

How is early in person voting less risky? What, covid doesn't attack early voters?

because fewer people use it, and thus there are fewer people smushed together in a closed space.

You can also pick the day and time you want to go. Maybe you work on Tuesday's but are off on Wednesdays.

So yes, it's less risky to be among fewer people for less time than more people for possibly hours on one set day that you may not have much or any control over when you can go.

And they aren't "changing laws in the middle of the game" but they are making it so that the postal system is a higher risk for lost or rejected ballots.

So I think I know better than you how crowded our early voting place gets. It's absolutely is not going to be more safe than voting on election day, because then many locations are supposed to be open on election day (at least in normal times).

First of all, I was born in Toledo...so how do you know where I have voted or not voted?

Second of all, your singular voting experience is not the entirety of even Ohio much less the rest of the country.

Third of all, we know that when you vote during a day matters. Very early and very late are the longest wait times generally speaking, but we know that's because people have to work so that's when they have to vote. But if you have a voting period spread out over multiple days, people can plan, use a day off, or otherwise schedule which gives control over when they vote for times when the lines are shorter.

Fourth, we have seen even Republican states are expanding early in person voting times.

But as several other people have noted, you are just trying to poke holes in alternatives to mail in voting for whatever reason.

Not sure what you mean by "singular voting experience." I have voted early, I have voted on election day, and I have voted by mail.
I would think that counts more than a singular experience.

and are acting as if that somehow makes you an expert on voting everywhere not just in that one state but the entire US and whether early in person voting can be done safely, whether dropping off ballots in person can be done, etc etc.

We get it. You think in your little corner of the world early voting in person isn't safe. Noted. But please repeat it ten more times as if it means more than that.

trouble post-January when the investigations and prosecutions begin. MAYBE he can save himself if he resigns right now.

Back to our individual roles, we each have to go to our state government election sites, learn the rules (and keep up with changes), and keep checking our registration status. Do everything possible to vote as early as possible and deliver the ballot as quickly and securely as possible. Mostly, DON'T GIVE UP!

regarding our entire system of government. From the justice system, to unemployment assistance, to the Post Office, this traitorous fucker is undermining everything Americans hold out as being a rock solid American system. He’s undermining the military and police too through his bizarre actions.

With regard to voting, if we assume only Democrats will vote by mail, I think that thinking is flawed and is what Trump is trying to propagate to demoralize Democrats. If we Democrats just keep saying we will vote either by mail or in person in numbers never seen, that will scare Trump and Republicans more than anything.

Trump will continue to rat fuck everything he can with his complicit Republican lackeys, and we really can’t stop that. We can all do everything we possibly can to get properly registered, check our registrations, and vote like a mofo.

Republicans have to vote too, so they are not immune from Trump’s shenanigans. Trump is laying the groundwork that any delay in vote counting means Democrats are pulling off a rigged election. He lies and blusters all the time, so we may have to just sweat out his last bullshit attempt to thwart democracy.

It will be a bumpy ride, but Democrats are chugging along nicely, I think, and will prevail. All of our systems will be put to test, thanks to having an organized crime family in charge.

He could propose taking your ballot to a UPS office and the ballot would then be transported to the election bureau in an Amazon envelope paid for by Amazon. He could certainly afford it. Amazon has a system of letting you know when your item is delivered too. Can you just imagine the Liar in Chief's response to that? Wishful thinking, I guess. We just need to get to November 3 with all eligible votes counted. After that, LOCK THEM ALL UP! Including that unqualified Postmaster General crony.

Biden needs to emphasize that in the first debate. And again in the second debate...

The alternatives suggested in this thread are helpful but not practical. Very small almost negligible number of voters will hand deliver as opposed to mailing. It is not a solution.

Otherwise the only thing I can think of is some billionaire, or combination of billionaires, setting something up to enable and expedite the mail. But I'm not sure how that would work or the legality.

Trump is not going to buckle on this. He didn't put DeJoy in that job to slow mail in August. They miscalculated the attention and backlash.

1. Weak dems won't show up on election day
2. The virus is a joke/blown up so we won't get sick
3. If they vote mail in and we block it or slow it down or reduce it, then our same day voting will win.

They aren't playing stupid. In one way they are stupid for thinking the virus is a joke, and that stupidity is being weaponized to target the safe way to vote that Dems would ordinarily use in great numbers.
