Bloomberg to speak at Democratic convention

The announcement is sure to anger progressives in the party who feel that the convention is already spotlighting speakers such as Republican John Kasich and not rising stars in the party such as Stacey Abrams and Andrew Yang.

"It's a real disappointment," one delegate told The Hill upon learning the news.

Yang has been added to the list of speakers for the convention, but Abrams is not on the list at this point.

Once we have the White House and the Senate they can have all the progressive they want. Until then, either get with the program or just sit down and shut up. We have an election to win here.

Throw away the fear. It's actually going to help in places like here in Florida, where Bloomberg received almost 150,000 votes and at one point had a chance to win the state, based on how incredibly effective his commercials were.

I'll never forget the Naples golf shuttle bus last November when a heavily white and conservative crowd was discussing the Democratic field and agreed in loud unison that the only two Democrats they would consider above Trump were Biden and Bloomberg.

We have forgotten the impact of Bloomberg ads...until we see them again in Biden's favor.

* Billionaire former presidential candidate Mike Bloomberg will be speaking at the Democratic National Convention as party leaders wonder when he will start spending big to back Joe Biden’s campaign.

* A convention official told CNBC that Bloomberg plans to target President Donald Trump in his speech and specifically go after his handling of the coronavirus pandemic.

* “My sense is that he is supportive but not yet fully engaged,” a friend of Bloomberg’s told CNBC, regarding his lack of financial support so far. “Lots of verbal shrugging,” said another.

Not interested. Give his time to AOC and excite actual Democrats.
