I've just learned what it means to be out of the loop for a day in these times.

We had a 400 acre fire near my home today. I'm fine, all my friends and loved ones are fine, and sadly (yet also mercifully) only two homes were lost. It consumed my day keeping up with the event and my friends and loved ones.

Then, I come here after the worst is over and so much has apparently transpired.

Cohen apparently said something about Trump and golden showers.

Barr is making some sort of announcement about something tomorrow (haven't caught up on this yet) and it plays into the presidential election somehow.

The us Postal Service has been even further kneecapped and their union is fighting back.

Trump went full birther on Kamala.

Some press person actually asked Trump if he regretted all his lies to the American people!

No wonder I'm so exhausted every day, I've not realized how insane the pace of all this is before. I read my pushes and check the news to stay abreast of things normally several times a day. Even if only for a few moments at a time. Wading into a lost day is truly overwhelming.

Step away completely for a bit and then look back in and you truly get a feel for how insane all this is now.

So sorry to hear you had such a stressful day!

You are so right about the fact that the frenetic pace of chump's insanity is intensifying daily. Quite a well crafted pkan putin has set forth. 🤬

I hope you have a calm, peaceful evening!

El Niño we know we'll flood, and La Niña we know we'll burn these days. Climate change is real and where I am we're living it. But, that's a rant for another day.

The pace at which they're pummeling us with this lunacy has definitely escalated exponentially. I hadn't noticed the full extent of the escalation until I was away from it entirely, even if so briefly. It's as if an octopus on meth is slinging spaghetti at the wall to see what sticks.

I shudder to imagine what it will be like by mid to late October.

Oh, on the up side, Michael Cohen released the forward to his book today & "Urine Trouble Trump" was #1 on twitter for a while. 😏

Trying to think of something good to say about this day... 🤔

Sorry I'm coming up empty.

But it's wonderful that your home was spared & nobody was hurt! Best news ever!

I thought of a good thing from today. Due to the smoke and ash everyone had a mask on!

Friday night news dump yet! I am so exhausted. I think I should have a news blackout for at least one day, but I'm afraid I will miss something really important. Your post confirms that.

I'm glad to hear that you and your friends and family are okay.

We need to form shifts. That way we can all get some time away and then just read what the other ones covered on their shift. Basic synopsis with links to the most pertinent daily events. That way we can all stay sane until November 3rd.

Thank you for the well wishes. It's smelly here but fine!

Take turns being on watch! If we survive this and life becomes relatively sane, I think we'll all have a problem adjusting, kind of like a form of PTSD, always waiting for the next outrage or assault.

I was in Sacramento during some wild fires and the air was awful. One was so close, we didn't see the sun for almost two weeks and that is unheard of in Sac during the summer.

I miss not having to pay attention to the news all the time. When Obama was president I didn't feel the need to compulsively check in here to see what I missed- having Trump as president is just mentally exhausting.

I miss the sane, linear days when I could catchup at my leisure. Now that's impossible. It's an insanity monsoon daily, and I feel I need to know so I can be prepared.

To be clear, I'm sure I missed pertinent information. I just hit the highlights I'd noticed when first checking in.
