I hope not, but not looking good. Don't usually see this much drama on a weather map. Mega heat, and possible widespread dry lightning.

East of Phoenix..OMG...we have broken +110 degrees record many times over. this summer...no relief in sight..

113 degrees right now 1:30PM...every day..+110 ..extended thru next Wed. to 115..very early morning high 80s to low 90s..I step outside for just a few minutes to take in some sunshine..

Hubby golf's at 7:30a mon-wed-fri - yesterday was too much for him..a bout of dehydration overnight..he is resting comfortably today..lots of fluids..(this is not the first time)..and he admits now, "gee, looks like I can't golf right now" - "ya' think"..

Stay cool everyone, this heat is nothing to fool with...

Wenatchee, WA. About 150 miles west of Spokane.

We are all huddling inside. Except the horses. But they have room to wander. I'll go fill another water trough for them here shortly.

We built an earth-bermed house. Kind of like a daylight basement, with a berm all around 2 stories in the back, and first story on the sides. Stayed cool with no AC yesterday - so long as we close the blinds and keep all the doors and windows shut. Testing it out again today.

Stay well, everyone!

Yeah, I absolutely have the AC on full blast. We're inland Bay Area, and the last time I checked yesterday, we were at a balmy 111 degrees. This is supposed to continue until Wednesday. Nope. Not gonna do it. I'm just glad I'm working from home at least until the end of August. I'm not going out in this if I don't have to.

I'm a wimp but here on the CA Central Coast we have no A/C because who needs it when summer temps are usually high 60's to mid-70's? Okay, it warms up in late summer (Sept/Oct) when it cools down inland and can be in the mid-80's to 90 (when we complain) but HOLY SMOKES yesterday it was 100!

I hear the violins already, but this is bloomin' hot for those of us not used to it. Thankfully I have a fan that I can park myself in front of

For outdoor cats. I have 11 we are caring for in our backyard. I am running to the store shortly for a couple more.
They now LOVE to be rubbed with a cube of ice. Temp shows 107 here too, just like the entire west.

I'm at 4650 ft. and usually about 10 degrees less than Tucson.
Today it is 105 in the shade. It's been over 100 many days. Yuck.
No real relief in sight, our normal monsoon has been gone for 4-5 years.
C'mon rain, c'mon coolth.

There are a number of wildfires in the state, due to the hot dry weather, and pretty much everyone east of that is seeing the smoke/smog/haze. Air quality is atrocious.

Here in Central Texas we've had heat advisories for almost a week and a half! UGH.

The High that was over us is shifting over to you now. It's been pretty miserable. Stay safe and cool!
