Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and House Democratic leadership are considering returning from August recess as early as next week to consider legislation addressing issues at the U.S. Postal Service (USPS), Democratic aides confirmed to CNN and Politico.
The chamber is currently in recess, with no votes scheduled until the week of Sept. 14, though they could reportedly return to vote within the next two weeks.
"Yes there are discussions to bring the House back to address the Postal Service crisis, timing not clear yet. Next week and week after (are) being discussed," one aide told CNN after a Saturday call with party leadership.

(1,656 posts)vs. saving democracy should make it pretty what the right call is here.
If she and the Dem leadership don't press house members and Senate minority dems to come back to DC, then the average person could easily frame this as a partisan squabble rather than the critical turning point ahead of this fall's election.

(7,021 posts)the now forgotten unemployment benefits and corona stimulus. I think more people are concerned about paying rent and feeding families and show them who gives a damn. Not that the postal crisis is not important also. Too much shit happening for vacation time if you plan on winning in 2 months.
