My friends who just moved up say there are non-stop Susan Collins ads on their TV. They live near Acadia National Park. I am DEVASTATED that my Biden/Harris stickers haven't come yet...would've been great on this multi-state trip, but I do have my RESIST sticker. It will have to do.

If the topic ever comes up with the locals, I'll fight the good fight and report my findings.

I'm MUCH more argumentative than my friends are---although they're getting their drivers licenses and, I'm assuming, registering to vote next week. We were joking that the locals may say "Tell your asshole friend from Delaware to head on back down the highway."


This could be my first real test.

6. Hell, some dude just got a Rump license plate, and I saw plenty of the make libs cry again signs

while out yard saling. Plus side is there are also BLM signs, a handful of Biden ones, and a big Biden/Harris banner. The landscape is beginning to reflect the saner folk who don’t feel they have to advertise outside of election season. This was down in the Belfast/Camden/Rockland drive we love so much, but we also wandered down to Thomaston, out to Warren, and up through Union.

I just came back after 5 days in down east area.

I saw lots of Bye Susan bumperstickers, all in beautiful blue.

From what I saw, Mainers respect the mask mandate, more so than New Yorkers (where I live) do.

Be prepared for temps higher than you might be expecting.

4. Southern Maine has the voters. "Bye Susan" is the popular sticker here.

Acadia / the island itself is pretty left leaning but that whole county you're in gets rabid pro Trump once you get to the outskirts and rural areas.

Collins screwed the pooch with her Kavanaugh vote here, an smart people even remember her forcing DeVos through her committee and casting a crucial vote there.

Trump will get tossed here - sometimes they dream about getting ONE EV here like they did in 2016 (Maine splits delegates).

7. Mainer here. Pay no attention to the signs.

Maine is blue and very few of the Dems I know bother to have signs up. It seems the Trump fans (Fewer and fewer of them) are the ones who feel the need to yell.
