Talking to old teamster that went postal to work he’s a vet as I am. Great guy he was in Lebanon doing barracks bombing he lucked out he was on hospital ship him he had him infection he was part of unit that caught it Usmc 1/8. I found out zollars has his hands in the post office. Roadway and yellow freight , yellow freight has been fucking me since Preston red star Express and Roadway teamster outfits. Yellow would acquire a company a strong outfit especially Roadway and they bleed them dry. Today roadway and yellow are Yrc freight it’s like a brother and sister screwed and had a idiot kid.

Clearly Yellow had some friends in the right places or they wouldn’t have gotten contracts related to military. These contracts are not open ended things and the Feds should not have gotten involved with an organization so clearly on the edge of failing.

Now, using some BS excuse about National Security WE own part of a failing trucking company. Th converse of that is that the owners of one part of the industry are the ones who get to make all the rules. WE own 30% of them for a $700M loan. Complete BS on many levels.

BTW - one certain logistics company that we all know has been operating at such a capacity that they kicked down an extra week of pay to the salary people. The hourly folks are cranking like it’s an extra Christmas (or 2) so they’ve got theirs. My friend was super psyched and frankly they’ve been working many extra hours, from home but still, over the last few months.

5. I've learned a lot from my friend.

Since I work in procurement I pick their brain on this stuff. I guessed that these DoD National Security were perhaps regular routes - like ‘cruit boots from manufacturer to Knox Benning etc- my friend informed me that those would only be “dedicated” and they didn’t think Yellow did that. Dedicated, I learned, is the trucking company having an office AT the source’s dock. They handle and coordinate movement from A to B to C. LTL stuff.
