Why do they keep saying the Post Office *lost* money? They were underfunded. The Military didn't *lose* $700 Billion last year.

(1,178 posts)In 2006 that requires health benefits and pensions for postal employees to be funded 75 years out needs to be repealed. This costs the USPS billions every year. No government agency or private business is required to do this.

(1,178 posts)Also remember, the USPS in normal times, doesn't receive any taxpayer funding. This law is what is hurting the postal service. It was meant to when written and passed.
