If the USPS slows down, animals die. (CW: Photo of dead animals.)

In case you needed another reason to protest.

Yes. We have ordered healthy baby chicks by @USPS
for 15 years. This year's order? 17 of 25 chicks dead. The consequences of the intentional slowing of mail is criminal.

to rehabilitate. The 4th one was in bad shape, but I'll baby it and see if it springs back.

My order earlier this year came quicker, and the plants sprung back from the delivery & are now beautiful in the garden (butterfly plants).

I feel bad for the nursery. I won't be ordering anymore plants on line.

They have a special handling route for Ducks and Chicks. My Letter Carrier even calls me the day before they arrive so I can be there when they come in or they can deliver them to my house earlier in the morning before the regular route.

The one thing I have never done, here in Texas, is order chicks or ducks in July/August. Any delay would be certain death due to the heat.

This is so sad as there are businesses that rely on the timely delivery of these chicks. It usually only takes 36 to 48 hours, now it is taking 3 to 5 days and they just can't survive that long. Chicks, ducklings, turkey chicks or poults have a reserve of yolk juice that can sustain them for about 50-72 hours after hatching and that is why they can be shipped. After that time they degrade quickly.

The postal service has been successfully shipping poultry of all types for decades.

DeJoy is a criminal. Full Stop.
