RUMOR: A Republican Member of Congress will endorse Biden tomorrow.

?s=20

Mrs. Krassenstein
@HKrassenstein
BREAKING: John Kasich just said that a prominent congressman will be endorsing Biden tomorrow, and implied that it is a Republican!

This is huge!
(FYI: Justin Amash is an independent — not a Republican.)

IF they said a member of congress, I'd be inclined to think Romney. But they said congressman. Drunken Irishman Aug 2020 #4
Technically he's a congressman? jorgevlorgan Aug 2020 #8
I'd say a stretch. Congressman generally refers to a member of the House. Drunken Irishman Aug 2020 #11

I can imagine that Romney will endorse Biden but the only Congressperson who seems to make sense here is Liz Cheney: she has a safe seat and doesn’t seem to like Trump.

Not least of which because he was the guy that ran against Biden's ticket in 2012.

So we know it’s a dude (or Kasich, being a Repo, is hopelessly out of touch). But, since Congress refers to both chambers (House & Senate), it could be Romney. Also, Kasich used to be a Representative, so theoretically he could even be talking about himself... but that cat’s already out of the bag. Nonetheless, the more defections, the better...

Better than nothing, but not exactly "brave hero" territory.

Lots of industries and corporations have been hurt by Trumps malice and incompetwnce, so there's a reasonable chance that this will not affect their future prospects in lobbying or on corporate boards at all.

So that in another 2 weeks (labor day weekend was his deadline remember) if they need to, then can all publicly denounce trump for his attack on the post office and distance themselves for the sake of their own seats.

Do or say whatever they needed to to keep their seats, and trump be dammned--cut him loose if you need to. Labor day was his 'deadline' for that advice decision.

They'll just attack whomever it is, and call them a has been who is no longer relevant.

NONE of the current Congress repubs will do it though. Even those who are retiring seem unwilling.

treated their own party leader.

If the progressive caucus had treated Nancy the way Cantor treated John, does anyone here doubt even a little bit, that in short order there wouldnt really BE a progressive caucus any more lol?

Nancy would have hung their fucking heads in her office, 'popular support' or not.

A Democratic Congress and President would be good for his marijuana investments.

Repukes will eat their own for money.
