The very embarrassing---mortifying---elephant in the room:

Even the most recent soul-lifting polls that show Biden's lead over Trump up in the teens---show that over a third of our neighbors are so fucking ignorant and/or spitefully corrupt that they STILL want to re-elect the Russian tool.

If they claim to be undecided, they can avoid being accurately labeled.

This is especially true of the "undecided" voters groomed by CNN & all the rest, affording them a sort of bargain-basement celebrity while getting to pretend that their vote is more important than those who aren't idiot racist fuckheads. They want it both ways; they want to vote for the idiot racist fuckhead-in-chief, and they want they want the trivial prestige of being courted for their vote.

Yes, yes. I'm sure someone can offer up a beloved relative or dear friend who truly was undecided in 2016 and who ultimately voted for Clinton, but that person is a statistical outlier.

underestimated their numbers and level of ignorance. Deplorable dimwits have done great damage to American prestige in the world.

Decent Americans need to roll up their sleeves and put a stop to the Frankenstein monster which was awakened by mad Doctor Trump.

The damage is irreversible so there's no use trying to change their rabid base, as repulsive as it is. All we can do is make sure Dems are in control and not allow them to come out of the woodworks.

That said, i have hope that our young people who increasingly are liberal, will take more part in civic activity and continue our fight. I am so proud of all the young people who've taken part in March For Our Lives, BLM & other groups.

and there is no doubt that a significant segment of the American electorate are morons, plain and simple.

And always have been.

Way too many of our fellow residents on this section of the planet have been waiting for a guy like Trumpy to become president their entire lives, and they aren't about to let him get swept into the dustbin of history (where he so rightly deserves to be) without a fight.

because Biden chose Kamala as his running mate. I don't know if it would make much, if any, difference in the polling numbers, but I wish CNN and MSNBC would stop making such a huge deal over her being black, and a woman, and instead emphasize the fact that Kamala Harris is a supremely qualified person.

You've just got to concede that 40% of this country would support any candidate regardless just as long as they have a R next to their name.

I've met the a lot of Trump supporter and they'll readily admit they do not like him. They don't like his tweets. They hate his rants. They think he's a fool some of the time.

But they also are Republican and they support his packing the courts with conservatives and his attacking lawless liberals.

Of that 40%, there's probably 25-30% who are hard-core Trump supporters. The type who will die for the man. They're just as bigoted as he is and love when he owns the libs. They think everything negative said about him is a lie pushed by the deep state and liberal media. They're the anti-maskers, the Russia deniers. They love his tweets. They love that he pisses off liberals.

Then there's the 10-15% supporters who are more soft, which is why his approval sometimes dips below 40% and into the 30s. They're the ones I explained earlier. More embarrassed by his tweets and actions. They may have been moved a bit from him over the Ukraine ordeal. They waver on the COVID response. But they're conservatives. They like the conservative shit he pushes, even if they don't like him. These people are only supporting Trump because he's the nominee. They also might reason their support by pointing to their 401k. Either way, their support is not as solid. But it's there.

This is the reality.

In today's hyper-partisan landscape, the days of candidates winning the popular vote by 20+ points is gone.

Nowadays, a 5 point win is a landslide for either side.

Loyalty to Trump has become a tenet of many Christians' faith. Look at how many very popular and influential Christian leaders give him their unwavering support, and of course their millions of followers do likewise. Thousands of Christian churches are preaching that he is God's own hand-picked president, put in place to save the country from the godless Communists, and that opposition to Trump is the same as opposition to God. He got the majority of Christians' votes overall in 2016. Among white Evangelicals, it was 81%. I honestly don't expect those numbers to change very much.
