In a way, I think it's a great metaphor.

But as someone who used to ride, a lot, I have a hard time imagining Trump ever riding a horse, let alone jumping from the saddle.

Maybe tumbling off once the horse starts moving (assuming it can move at all with that much weight on its back, and you'd probably need a mechanical lift to get him into the saddle in the first place), then leaving a large dent in the ground. But he'd probably demand that the horse be killed for lese-majeste.
