Video shows students at the University of North Georgia starting the semester with a huge party

as the state battles a surge in coronavirus infections

Hundreds of University of North Georgia students were filmed attending a crowded outdoor party off campus this weekend, as the state battles a surge in coronavirus cases.

Footage of the party spread on social media over the weekend, prompting the university to issue a response.

The university said in a statement that the Saturday night party happened at an off-campus apartment complex.

"We are disappointed that many of our students chose to ignore COVID-19 public health guidance by congregating in a large group without social distancing or face coverings," the statement read, according to Fox 5 Atlanta.

on a hope and a prayer. They should be following established procedures to protect their students, faculty, and themselves. They will soon learn about their stupid mistake.

The facts of viral transmission are undisputed and well-established.
The fact that this virus has no 'cure' is also well-established.

The other facts are that teenagers and 20-24 year old people are willing to take the chance that if 100 of them drink from a poisoned cup, only one of them will potentially die.

And the biggest liar in American History is egging them on...

School hasn’t even started yet. 30,000 students.

Local hospitals are at maximum capacity.

It’s going to be bad.

first, the young humans at UNG are going to cause an outbreak there, leading to campus closure
then, they'll get sent back to wherever to help spread the virus in their hometowns
how many hundreds of surviving fools will be saddled with a lifetime of irreconcilable regret, having fatally spread the disease to loved ones?

these are humans. they exist in what we call a "red state", but among that "redstate herd", they are the ones seeking higher education. i will continue to mourn their idiocy, wherever it happens.

I hope - against hope - that someone those children will not get sick and they can enjoy the time should be during this part of their lives. College was a good experience for me and this experience has literally been ripped from their hands with the failed republican leadership to protect folks' health and well being.
