I live in Eastern Washington and we are represented by the dreadful Kathy McMorris Rogers. But I have always tried to reach out to her during times of crisis. I urged her to recall that the United States Constitution establishes a post office and that her job is to defend the Constitution of the United States of America and not to allow political maneuvers to damage the post office in the name of short-term electoral gain.
I'm never sure if my calls are listened to, however. She was raised in a white separatist compound in British Columbia and then was brought to the United States as an adult, where she basically has lived in an insular environment with no contact outside of her sect. But she's the representative that we have, so I'm going to call.

(1,474 posts)I'm not sure exactly. She pretended for a while that she had been raised in Washington State, but now admits that that was untrue.

(10,053 posts)small town and a separatist tried to set up near there but that was 2010 and he was run out of town. I don't know of any other separatist sects there.

(1,474 posts)I've heard terrible things about her, over the years. Now they think of it, I don't really have sources.
