4 Republicans to speak on opening night of Democratic convention

Washington — Three more Republicans have been added to the lineup of speakers who will address the opening night of the Democratic National Convention on Monday, joining former GOP Governor John Kasich of Ohio in bucking their party and President Trump in favor of the Democrats and Joe Biden.

The Democratic National Convention Committee announced that former New Jersey Governor Christine Todd Whitman, former Hewlett-Packard CEO Meg Whitman and former Congresswoman Susan Molinari of New York, all Republicans, will also speak Monday.

Meg Whitman backed Hillary Clinton for president in 2016 and unsuccessfully ran for governor of California as a Republican in 2010. She is the current CEO of the streaming service Quibi.

A program distributed ahead of the evening's events show the four Republicans will deliver speeches under the theme "We the People Putting Country Over Party."

Damn time for that message to be the mantra of 2020.

Anyone not all in for this simple message can now remain on the fringes of society, while we piece back together the destructive lack of forethought of 2016.

"We the People Putting Country Over Party."

It's time to get with the program. None of the complaining done here will change anything. It's happening as written. Time to trust Joe Biden and our party's leadership. It's an all-hands-on-deck moment. The time for complaining is over. The GOP is our enemy now. I hope you'll join the fight.

to accept a grudging crumb at the back door from a Democratic banquet whose hosts are rolling out the red carpet for 4 Republicans who would most happily stab us in the back the instant they get the chance? The enemy of our enemy is NOT our friend. AOC at least -- AT LEAST -- deserves equal treatment.

This is a battle you've already lost. Nothing said here will change anything... but it does help to promote division and resentment and suspicion. So, stop it.

The enemy of our enemy is NOT our friend.
For the time being they are. People just need to get used to it. It's not going to change. They are going to help us win. Just like the Lincoln Project.

We're not marrying them for life... we're accepting their help in DEFEATING DONALD TRUMP. I guess I just have different priorities.

AOC at least -- AT LEAST -- deserves equal treatment.
Oh, please. Joe Biden and our party's leadership disagree with you. At this late date, my best advice is: Trust Joe. Just let go, and trust Joe. He's got this.

We certainly don't need all this negativity. Here's the thing... and all I'm trying to make clear to you is this: Negativity generates apathy. Apathy discourages voter turnout. Low voter turnout gives Republicans a chance to steal the elections.

The negativity posted here just feeds on itself. It's becomes the narrative that people take out into the real-world among family and friends. That's dangerous. What good purpose does it serve? --- I can tell you this: from what I'm seeing around here and elsewhere on the Internet today, there are a lot of people who need an attitude adjustment.

Because, as I said before: Negativity generates apathy. Apathy discourages voter turnout. Low voter turnout gives Republicans a chance to steal the elections.

All hands on deck! Get with the program! Enough sniping and griping.

For now they are our friends and allies. Get used to it. Now is not the time to let pride stand in the way of victory over Trump. Best to set aside emotions and be realistic... and trust Joe Biden.

can we all remember how she began the total destruction of the Clinton's and the start of the Anti Hillary shit drumbeat. What the hell is wrong with Democrats?

Remember, bring the snake inside and then don't be surprised when they bite you. Goddamit.
