but the humor. It's kind of a new genre, TV-only convention master of ceremonies. In previous nights the transitions were abrupt, no segue. This was subtle humor, almost political inside jokes at times. Surely the concept will evolve. We'lll never go back to the old ways, this concentrated 2 hour format will be important to focus viewers and value their time. Conventions were for the process, the activists and office holders/delegates. This was for the TV eyeballs, totally new.

Her dad was a rich Frenchman, but her parents divorced when she was 1. Her mother was a writer and special needs tutor. And despite his wealth, unlike the Trumps, her Father served as a cavalry officer and member of the French Resistance during World War II.

After relocating to Washington, D.C. when she was four, her mother married L. Thompson Bowles, Dean of the George Washington University Medical School. She spent her childhood in several states and countries, in connection with her stepfather's work with Project HOPE, including Colombia and Tunisia.
