that the social media posts are even from the person they purport to be from or are so in the manner in which they were presented. Or ever have been. Never mind that they are truthful, or not.

I've seen at least once when George Conway claimed some Twitter account which had gotten a lot of attention was not his daughter but a fake account. Okay then, we clearly need to establish the veracity of these social media posts before proceeding.

This is the problem with quick reactions to anything adjacent to long-con artists like the Conways. They are SCREAMING for people to pile on them for a "gotcha, libtard snowflake" moment -- so they can play the victim, and get the boomerang headlines just at the opportune time.

When a corporate media outlet with deep pockets and therefore many millions to lose in defamation suits reports that they have A) confirmed this person is their daughter and B) documents her accusations in that context, and C) describes the degree to which they have been able to corroborate the story, then I'll engage with this story in a sympathetic or empathetic manner.

Until then I think people should be very fucking circumspect in propagating this story, or getting emotionally involved in it.

It might all be 100% true. Ok. But I see no advantage to jumping on that train exactly right now.
