"Networks need to be prepared to handle the RNC as a major political & medical disinformation event"

Amanda Carpenter
@amandacarpenter
From me: Networks need to be prepared to handle the RNC as a major political and medical disinformation event. Trump’s messaging on the rigged election and miracle coronavirus cures are dangerous to our health and democracy.

Most would not use the word “lies,” which is what will come from most of the speakers. I wonder whose music they’ll use without permission.

The best way to counter propaganda is not take the cash from sponsors to broadcast it. That’s where the problem is—some companies pay money to have commercials next to propaganda.

But since networks refuse to do that. Even more, they can’t refuse the money, they’re commercial networks. That’s what they do, sell advertisement. That’s all. Sell advertisement.

So they must go where the money is.

Commercial networks can’t oppose propaganda per se, but Democrats can. And having the Democratic convention first, entertaining, factual, powerful, and hopeful is the best antidote to the upcoming RNC propaganda show.

Republicans are defeated before they even take the stage. Watch. Or better yet, don’t watch. Just look at the infighting that emerges by the end of the shitshow. Now that’s something worth popping popcorn for.
