Reminder: in the meanwhile, millions closer to being evicted and no Fed $ for the unemployed

It’s all going according to the R plan. No $ for those in the greatest need, no plan to beat the virus, no plan to get people back to work, no plan to keep millions from being thrown out on the streets. The media has pretty much moved on - it’s a non-story because Congress is out of town and, you know, conventions, the USPS, the latest tRump relative confirming what we already know. The distractions are outnumbered only by the very real crises.

September 1 is a week away. Rents are due. For millions, rents are already in arrears, and evictions are a very real possibility. And our politicians and the media are for the large part silent.

At this point, the unemployed have $2400 LESS in their pockets than they had every month from May-July, with no indication that things will be different in September, or October. Because Rs in Congress who are paid a MINIMUM of $3,346 a week in salary think giving a person who is unemployed $600 a week is being “too generous.” Because Steve Mnuchin - who is worth $300-million - believes a government check of $1200 should sustain a family for ten weeks.

In the meanwhile...
