"The longest economic expansion in history"

Don Jr was bragging up his daddy tonight by proclaiming he presided over the longest economic expansion in history, something his dad has been happy to claim for years now.

Does that mean the old record was three years? Of course not. It's only true if he counts the Obama/Biden terms. So Trump kept it going for three and a half years before failure, while Obama/Biden for eight, so who are you going to vote for?

I wouldn't point that out if I were him, but it raises the question if these republicans really believe their own nonsense or do they know it's a con job.

Meg Whitman was running against Jerry Brown. At one of her rallies, she got up and talked about how wonderful California was when she moved there, and how she wanted to make it like that again...not realizing, apparently, that the governor of California when she moved there was Jerry Brown.

Before this is all over, I figure one of two things will happen: Trump will claim to have invented the wheel, fire and the light bulb, or he'll say to his crowd, "and what have the Democrats ever done for us?" (Which will immediately be followed on the talk shows by a Pythonesque list of all the things the Democrats have done for us.)
