Report cases of COVID-19 in Tennessee schools to The Tennessean
Meghan Mangrum
Nashville Tennessean

The Tennessean is tracking COVID-19 cases in schools in the Nashville area and across Tennessee. To help us track outbreaks in schools, report known cases using the form at the end of this story.

Tennessee state officials have acknowledged that COVID-19 transmission will occur in schools, but state leaders — including Gov. Bill Lee — have flip-flopped and refused to publicly report the number of confirmed cases linked to schools.

Though Metro Nashville Public Schools students have yet to return to the classroom since the school year began, thousands of students across the state have already returned — and dozens of COVID-19 cases have already been reported.

Some school districts are informing all families in a school of a known case and publicly reporting the data and others are not. The Tennessee Department of Education has not provided any guidance to districts on who schools should notify of a suspected or confirmed case.

Known confirmed cases by town listed. No additional text beyond the list.

Ridiculous that cases are not being publicly reported by school, publicly!
