Would Jesus Vote For Donald Trump? Ask Any Fake Christian Republican

It won't change their minds because their brains are concrete, but it may make you feel better.

I used to ask "how many times would Jesus vote to repeal Obamacare" and watch them change the subject. I then ask them again, and point out the fact that they won't answer the question.

Playing the Republican game is fun.

They always walk away, usually after uttering a Fox Lies talking point about "liberals" or something.

Run away. Run away. Just like Money Python and "The Search For The Holy Grail". Run away.

It’s the religion that’s to blame, not the people.

Take the case of Falwell and the pool boy. There is nothing wrong or evil about having an open marriage. There is nothing wrong with voyeurism being part of the sexual preferences between consenting adults. No, it’s religion - Christianity in this case - that labels such relationships/practices as bad/evil. That’s what all religions do: take normal human activities and label them as sinful. Create a feeling of self-loathing among the faithful.

And what does that inevitably lead to? Why, the hypocrisy, of course. The demand that human beings treat their nature as sinful, and then when they can’t live up to an unreasonable demand, they impose that demand on others, all the while reinforcing their own feelings of self loathing and shame.

In a truly humane world, Falwell and wife and the pool boy would revel in their sexual choices, not feel shame for them (of course, being naughty is very exciting to some people). When questioned about it, the answer would be “what of it?” Unfortunately, that response is not available to Falwell and other hypocrites with their “do what I say, not what I do” preachings.

The real problem is the religion, which by its very nature leads to an inevitable path of failure, shame and hypocrisy.

the antiabortion slant came because the baby might be a boy, and you can't abort a boy, a girl is okay but not a boy.
Racism was made okay when the other race has the 'wrong' religion. Then you can be a racist as you like. Killing is okay if you are killing people of the 'wrong' religion. Stealing is okay if you are stealing from people of the 'wrong' religion. Religion gives permission.
