While Biden maintains a lead against Trump in almost every general election poll, the president's base doesn't look keen to leave Trump.

After watching the RNC last night and the respective speakers, I doubt his base will leave him in any significant way. Independents and voter turnout overall will maintain Biden's lead.

What I saw last night was pro-theocracy, pro-narcissist, pro-war w/Iran, pro-racist, and definitely PRO-CORPORATE WELFARE. That was the smoke and mirrors behind the socialist Marx bullshit. They want to continue their insane tax cuts and GROW INEQUITY.

I say we can win this thing. The craziest moment for me was Trump's girlfriend and the racist couple from St. Louis It is hard to imagine those elements appeal to Independents to any great extent.

What did you all think?.

Trump’s problem in a nutshell: This election is a choice between a 70-some man with experience at the highest levels of government, and a child who embarrasses this nation every chance he gets.

There always have been lots of these kinds of people in this country, a dark underbelly of the American electorate. The bigots, the gun nuts, the KKK racist types, the skinheads, the crazy conspiracy theorists, the religious fanatics, they've always been there and I've always been aware of them. They're the "basket of deplorables" Hillary talked about, and she was right about them, although I wish she hadn't used that language. But this loathsome orange con man who's in the White House now brought them out of the woodwork like the cockroaches they are. His ascendancy to the presidency (I didn't say his "election", please notice that) validated their lunacy, in their minds at least.

part of this nightmare. And that won’t change with Biden’s win, not in my lifetime which as a boomer is admittedly relatively short.

I don’t know how the crazy can be marginalized, not with conspiracy media amplifying, not with anti-intellectualism, etc. I long for the innocence of normal.

It is very popular and would draw in a lot of otherwise non-voters.

Not a personal issue for me, but it never made any sense to me how crazed the repukes were about it.

But I really feel this would add to Joe's base. I hope he will consider it!

There's 1 Trump leads in? Even Rasmussen has Biden ahead. Trump has lead in zero polls since April.

their leader?

We all know the reason Trump's approval has hovered in a narrow range between 35-40% is because of the cultists. There's not enough to push it higher and too many to let it fall too far.
