Do the Falwells deserve sexual privacy?
Excerpt:
Falwell released a statement about the complicated issues involved, saying that after learning about the inappropriate relationship, he lost 80 pounds and people who saw me regularly thought that I was physically unwell, when in reality I was just balancing how to be most supportive of Becki, who I love, while also reflecting and praying about whether there were ways I could have been more supportive of her and given her proper attention. He said, Becki and I forgave each other, because while her indiscretion may have been more obvious and apparent, I realized that there were important smaller things I needed to do better too.
Unfortunately for Falwell, tapes then surfaced of Falwell discussing the issues with his wifes lover, and encouraging him not to make her jealous by seeing other women. Last year, other, seemingly unrelated allegations surfaced of Falwell sharing sexy and revealing photos and details of his wife with friends and staff, and boasting about his sexual adventures. So, for Falwell to now claim that he is an unwilling, accidental party to these events seem implausible.

As the Falwell scandal continues to unreel, it makes several things clear. First, in todays world of technology, devices, cameras and social media, theres no such thing as sexual privacy any longer. Second, it shows that sexual hypocrisy is a far greater sin than sexual adventure. Falwell has an opportunity to take responsibility for his sexual decisions, and the degree to which his sexuality is an important part of his life.

(15,805 posts)to save himself. That's very Christian of him. Religious men have always blamed their sins and immortality on evil women who led them astray.
Suddenly he is innocent as a lamb, a pure and godly man who was seduced by the Devil's own handmaid. If only she would agree and admit it was all her fault that he passed around those sexy photos of her doing the McNasty with a hot young stud.

It will all come crashing down around him if students are involved, especially male students.
For all we know his pants-unzipped-post was a deliberate distraction.
