If BLM were to shut all the protests down

we would win in a massive landslide which would enhance the possibility of achieving all the goals BLM is trying to achieve. If this is the main argument Trump is leveling, BLM are creating lawlessness, having all the protests shut down would f him up royally. Counter intuitive but this is the reality. Democrats, can we be sly, pragmatic and devious for once and play some 4D chess.

My point is if you want to really fck up the system, take away Trump’s card he is playing. The “law and order” argument is the very thing that PREVENTS any meaningful change. If the Democrats win a huge, massive landslide they will have a legislative mandate. These protest are becoming counter productive. Keep an eye on the prize. VICTORY

It would stop if Police would stop shooting/killing/maiming minorities. And, if LEO's started to police white people like they do minorities, you can be damn sure there'd be a bi-partisan legislative action to address this.

I'm not saying that there aren't some who are applying a wrong approach but how about you go to these protesters when yet another person got executed by the police and you tell them to be just a little bit more pragmatic and that they shouldn't be outraged about it.

black people continue to be gunned down at taxpayer expense with no consequences. This has gone on for over 400 years.

So please go out into the streets and explain your pragmatic non-protest approach to the protesters, and let us know how that goes.

If the BLM held back and followers complied, the only people out and about would be agent provocateurs. Things would still burn and BLM would still be blamed. That's only one of several reasons why it would be a bad idea.

so far the blm movement is really taking off and working brilliantly.

it is unfortunate that there is some minor vandalism happening at the same time, but it is even more unfortunate that the police and donnie are hugely overreacting and bringing in a paramilitary response.

but that whole scene works in our favor. people see the protesting as legitimate, especially as society has been turned upside down by covid-19, massive unemployment and business shutdowns and workarounds, and the massive corruption from donnie and his crooks. and people see the paramilitary response as out of proportion.

it, in fact, underscores the legitimacy of blm's grievances. police escalating and using violence against black people wildly out of proportion to whatever crimes they're even accused of.

why on earth should anyone act as of there's no longer anything to protest?

let's win the election first.

There are some people in America who ONLY see the violence. And if we could shut down the violence, that would be wonderful.

But the right to assemble is part of our Constitution. For African-Americans, it has been the medium through which we have been heard, and our suffering has been seen. It was only when TVs showed Bull Conner sic'ing dogs on innocent marchers that the issue of segregation became mainstream.

When George Floyd died, there were protests around the world. White people finally acknowledged a problem that has been going on for over 100 years - police brutality and murder of African-Americans.

Try to realize, all of a sudden, protest was EFFECTIVE.

I truly believe that it is important that protest have purpose, goals, organization. But I also know that people "get carried away". Especially if they are very angry.

Shutting down the protests may seem like a "convenient" solution to a messy problem. But black people did not create the messy problem of racism and police brutality. They are only responding to it. If you were to fix the messy problem, I think the protests would end.
