Got an email from a friend today -

she said she's moving to Finland in six weeks. She's from there originally but has lived here for 25+ years, but apparently she decided to get the hell out of this cesspool - because she can. I wrote back to ask her to take me with her and I'd even learn Finnish. I envy her. Finland seems like a nice place.

4. I stayed with a Finnish family

in a summer exchange student program (my father was in Rotary Club which sponsored it). This was back in the 80s. I spent 6 weeks there with a family who had a daughter my age. We still correspond. If i could move there if the dip shit steals the election, I would. Beautiful country, nice people, and a government that cares about you. Their president is a young woman who is quite popular there now. Good place for women to live. Your friend is lucky to get away from the hate and the crazy here.

Whom I have never met. Don't know their names but they lived in Helsinki last I heard. I wish I could do the same.
