Has the CDC basically rolled over and showed its belly to the Trump admin?

Given some of its recent moves and advice? It really seems to be kowtowing to the administration's demands and goals more than feels 'guided by objective science". Has Trump managed to slip another institution/organization into his back pocket?

The right move is to resign immediately when asked to compromise the mission of a public agency to benefit an autocratic, law-breaking asshat like Trump. You do not make things better by going along with him, you leave and convince all decent people to do the same so that what is left is a rancid husk of what was once a functional government agency.

Republicans LIVE for shit like this - starving programs and agencies of funding and then claiming it was just waste and fraud anyway and look how bad they are performing...all while shuffling those once not-for-profit government programs and policies into the hands of their greedy ass private sector owners.

The whole thing makes me want to puke. I am ready to back a splitting of this 'union' and allow the red state / Trump-humpers to leave as the new Confederate States of America - on condition that all military assets of the UNITED States are to be retained by the original country or decommissioned to not allow a hyper-armed, belligerent state to exist on the same continent as the USA, Mexico and Canada.

Seriously, I have had enough and see zero opportunity for "common ground" with these people. If you count yourself among the people who can pretzel themselves into justifying the existence of Trump as POTUS, or give him any credibility as a statesman or viable leader, then you are total human scum in my eyes and not worthy of a conversation, let alone the bonds of countrymen and citizens. Fuck him, fuck his supporters and fuck anyone who abides this monstrosity one day longer than absolutely necessary...

If it is the advice not to run out and get tested the moment you find out you were in contact with someone that tested positive, the CDC is correct.

Many rushed to get their rapid tests, were told they were negative, so got lazy with mask wearing and social distancing (for example, think college move ins). Groups that tested negative socialized together thinking they were COVID free only to find out days later they were infected and now had caused COVID-19 to spread.

One should isolate if possible, and if not should social distance and wear a mask in public if they have been in contact with someone who tested positive. Get tested several days later to check especially if you are around high risk individuals.

And don't assume if you test negative you can hang out without protection/distancing with others that have recently tested negative. The test was only good for that snapshot in time if levels were detectable.

No doubt the CDC has been muzzled, data was kept from them, etc., however reports are being provided to hospitals and medical professionals of new protocols, treatment options, and life threatening conditions to watch out for in patients post release.
