certainly many of us will say we care, and align ourselves as caring, but are we willing to take actions necessary to punish this violation and prevent it in the future? whatever those may be? whose job is it to enforce that particular set of laws?
what will we be prepared to do if/when Trumpco blatantly steals the election? what can be done? how do we preserve what remains of our all-too-fragile union?

(8,791 posts)The emoluments clause, only inside the beltway, treason only inside the beltway, selling the country to Putin, only inside the beltway, thieving our treasury, only inside the beltway, shooting blacks only inside the beltway, lying under oath, only inside the beltway, presidents gettin blow jobs only inside the beltway, on and on. Since when has that inside the beltway ever gave a shit about everyone outside it? Zero laws outside the beltway as per the Law and Order party. So bring your asses out here outside the beltway and we can do what we wish with all of you. And how stupid is Meadows claiming laws only apply INside the beltway, the most corrupt shit hole on the fucking planet. Come on back to WNC Meadows, we got some of that dont care outside the beltway justice waiting for your Putin penis stroking fuck America attitude. And we have not forgotten you cosponsored a bill to shut down the Charles George VA hospital in Asheville, to fuck your own ppl. When and where did you serve weasel, oh, right, in Trumps army.

(6,652 posts)I did call the number. Only response is to "press one to leave a message" which I did. Saying I live in northern Wisconsin and Meadows is wrong, we are angry that taxpayer money is being used for campaign, citing the entire RNC, SoS Pompeo, DJT and his entire administration. Said it's a Hatch Act crime spree.

(6,202 posts)The Hatch Act is a law, even if the Republicans aren't going to enforce it.
Hopefully, the Democrats will.
mcp37
(27 posts)If they are not enforced they are just words on a page. The Republicans will never hold one of their own responsible for anything. Just shows that they have no principles or ethics. Everytime I hear them talk about"law and order" it makes me sick. Everytime I hear them invoke "justice" or "fair play" or any of the other buzz words we've been conditioned to think represents a better form of society it makes me sick. Because they don't believe it and they don't care about real foundational social principles. They never did. They never will.

(4,986 posts)About the Hatch Act, An Act to Prevent Pernicious Political Activities.
Using official titles, roles, and resources to promote the pResidents fascist propaganda re-election campaign is the high arch violation of the Act. Folks just havent seen such flagrant, no wait, cartoonishly ridiculous breaking of the law until this week.
Doesnt matter how much mark meadows cackles to himself in the mirror every morning, the Hatch Act is about to become wildly relevant to Americans everyday lives.
