My friend ran it to verify how much was true. She said it all shows up on any simple background check program,even the cheap ones they advertise online. Says the mom has a background too.

Could you ask your friend to double check the DOB on the record they found? Is the case info they found the same as the case info in the OP? I found what appears to be the same 2016 case info for a Kyle Rittenhouse born in 1989.

In Illinois a FOID card is needed to buy a firearm or ammunition. The minimum age to get the card is 21.

Edit> a person younger than 21 can get a card to possess a firearm, if the parent is eligible for a card and signs an affidavit. The minimum purchase age is still 18.

He is still a juvenile. He would have been a juvenile when these offenses were committed. Juvenile records in Illinois are sealed, even cops can't pull them up without a judge giving the ok.
