Rasmussen Reports had Trump's approval at a completely unbelievable 51% on August 24.
Today, with polling completed before Trump's speech last night, his approval had fallen to 46%. Even after all that convention time dedicated to praising him. Not to mention all the "surprise" appearances by Trump himself, all designed to try to make him look good.

(19,108 posts)Convention was well run and he had some good speakers that would have helped his cause. But his ratings were way way down compared to the Dem Convention, and he failed to stick the landing. In fact his speech is being mocked as awful even by FOX News.
Democratic convention had more high profile speakers, much much high ratings, and Biden sticked the landing and then some.

(34,857 posts)They cook their numbers to drive a narrative, imo. They purposely see this type of shit to get people on the left, or mainstream bite and then, days later, the same poll will see a significant shift the other way.
It would not surprise me if, next week, his approval polls from Trump are very positive and he inches ahead of Biden, or ties the race, nationals.
