(42,334 posts)through chemo and endless treatments.
My father died of colon cancer at age 62. I saw what he went through. It was 1987 so I'm sure the treatments have improved but still.
I cannot even imagine working at that pace through all of that.

(13,524 posts)And yeah, but still: look at all this work he was doing!!! - this was a busy BUSY young actor!!

(2,692 posts)I loved the movie. I idolized Jackie and thought his portrait was spot on and remarkable.
But here's a young man (yes, young!) posing with the future Vice President, encouraging Americans, black and white and looking forward to working on the dream, on the vision, once again (after 4 years of horrendous back pedaling) knowing that his cancer was not retreating, but still smiling! That says more than a million words about this man's character.
(A picture, I am certain, Ms. Harris will keep and cherish forever.)

I honor the man and his talent and mourn his loss at such a young age.

R.I.P. Mr. Boseman 🕯
I was writing on my computer and I get a news update and did a double take when I read that Chadwick Boseman had passed. I didn't want to believe it. So young and so talented. Thanks for sharing the Tweet.
I still don't know how I feel about the afterlife, but if there is something more, I hope Mr. Boseman is up there with a big smile on his face when Biden/Harris wins the White House.
This is a sad day.

(129,096 posts)and it is good to know that he was politically-active right to the end. His roles have really become iconic. I remember watching him in "42" with my mom (who had always been a baseball fan) back when it came on cable since she lived through that era of Jackie Robinson and the "Brooklyn Dodgers" (where also during the time we had the American League "Philadelphia Athletics" and National League Philadelphia Phillies, with the latter headed up by racist idiots and was one of the last teams to hire any black players). He was absolutely fantastic as T'Challa and really made that character his own.
R.I.P. to him.

(42,334 posts)We watched Da 5 Bloods when it streamed on Netflix and, of course, Black Panther, which is my favorite of the Marvel Universe.
He really did play iconic roles.
