in the Seattle area in the past. On one occasion, I was on my way to the Seatac airport and had to stop so they could cross the road.

Do you still live in Seattle? Are you having a particularly rainy fall or is this all falling in Alaska?

Anchorage has had over twice as much rain this month as usual and those towns around Prince William Sound are drowning. Cordova got almost 18 inches in a three-day period last week.

I guess a river flooded all the way up to cover a bridge on the highway? Somewhere, the rain made a river the same level as the road.

I'm also jealous of your rain, even too much rain. It's very dry in Texas and the midwest.

There are a lot of wetlands around Valdez, and the salmon come up into the shallows to spawn. Even under the best conditions the highway is only a few feet above the water level.
