I still believe the Con will withdraw from the election

when he realizes there is no way for him to win. He'll probably announce that he has Covid-19 or some new illness a la his bone spur lies to escape Vietnam.

The next 67 days will be something else - Cohen's book, the book on Melania and then there are several more of those fifteen hours of delicious details from Mary's recording of MaryAnne. I have a feeling they are saving the best for last.

And more and more rats will be jumping off his sinking ship.

ByeDon! Just begone!

Trump would find the opportunity to reek havoc and try to destroy the country with his minions to be irresistible. He feeds on mayhem and chaos. And the same result if he has to leave the WH by choice or compulsion: back to Mar-A-Lago and Trump Tower.

I come from a NYC construction family. (Little company, defunct for the past 15 years, but we were often subcontractors to the subcontractors on big NY construction jobs.) Trump left a huge and public trail of bodies behind him wherever he went since the 80s. I kept waiting for that to come out during 2016 and it never did.

1) Trump is desperate to avoid prosecution that's certainly headed his way if he loses. He might get a pardon from Pence if he both quits the election and resigns from office, but there's still likely plenty of New York state prosecution that Pence can't pardon Trump for.

2) Using whatever hold Putin has on Trump, Putin wants Trump to cause maximum chaos. Going through with the election, losing, and then refusing to accept that loss, produces maximum chaos.

They don't read, period, and they have an insatiable urge to denigrate those who do as "eggheads" and "elitists."

The inability or unwillingness by tens of millions of voters to read anything longer than a bumper sticker or a Facebook post is a major factor in the ongoing failure of our democracy.

The only way to reach these people, if there is any way at all, is to dumb down the discussion to the point of absurdity. The GOP is willing to do that, easier for them too because they're willing to lie outright.

As for Mary Trump's recordings, from what I've heard of them thus far (admittedly not much as yet) the poor audio quality alone will have Trumpeters dismissing them outright. When it comes to anything digital or visual, slick production values are all that count.

And they always have violence as a last resort. Trump is perfectly fine sending others to kill and die to stay in power and stay out of prison.

I think things in general will get much much worse before we see the end of this regime.
