I imagine it cost a lot of money to have that campaign rally at the White House. It is against the constitution to do it so why can't we sue to have the people get their money back?
Plus wouldn't it be against some campaigning laws?

(32,017 posts)Maybe two. The Attorney General could press charges, I suppose, but we know that Bill Barr isnt going to do that. The other remedy is impeachment. We did that already, and the Senate refused to convict. If we impeached Trump again (which we could), the outcome would likely be the same.
Trump has promised to pay back the national treasury for expenses related to his renting federal property, illegally, for partisan purposes. Undoubtedly, the check is in the mail, but I am not holding my breath.
Of course, our right to access the courts remains preserved. Yes, we can sue him. Yes, you could sue him. Yes, anybody can sue him. The question is whether or not such a suit would have any chance of succeeding. My gut answer to that question is a definite NO.
