180,000+ people have died so far from COVID-19. This year.
50,000 US soldiers died over 10 years during the Vietnam war. I served during that war in the USAF. I mourn every one of those deaths. I also mourn for the 180,000+ who have died in 2020 already.
Someone said, "It is what it is."
I cannot, under any circumstances, vote for someone who said that.
If you cannot handle that, unfriend me now.

(146,317 posts)My friends list is family, friends, and old acquaintances from half a century ago. However, I'm seeing too many Trumpish posts from some of them, so I have decided to break my normal apolitical posting rule.
So far, this post has gathered a number of likes and just one person chastising me for the post. I messaged that person, reminding him that I never comment on his political posts, and would appreciate him not commenting on mine. He said "That's a deal."

(10,778 posts)... and all the while explaining why he was doing virtually nothing: because the 13 cases were completely contained and would soon be zero; calling it a pandemic was all a Fake News Democrat Hoax; it was just another flu; it would disappear when it got hot; and these things always miraculously disappear, sooner or later, anyway. But unfortunately for all of us, the virus is what it is, despite Trump's self-obsessed lack of concern and willful ignorance, and the preventable deaths that weren't prevented are the predictable result of Trump's sociopathic response.

When will we be great again?
