Masks.

I went to the hospital yesterday again for more bloodwork, and as per usual, I wore the following:

1) A cloth mask with an exhale valve, but the interior of the exhale valve is covered with a 2 layered cloth pocket that contains a filter. Since people cannot tell that the exhale valve is essentially useless because of the interior covering, I also wear...

2) Another mask over the mask described in #1 above. It's one of those accordion multi-layered surgical looking ones. I wear this second mask solely to prevent other people from getting worried about my useless exhale valve on the first mask.

3) My regular pair of frameless eye glasses, with "Cocoon" sun glasses over that pair. The sunglasses fit right over my regular glasses, and wrap around the sides, like a pair of safety glasses would.

4) A plastic face shield over all of that.

5) A pair of nitrile gloves.

I knew that I would have to leave them a urine sample also. Well, there is no way I'm walking into a hospital bathroom that probably over 1,000 people a day use. So I happened to have a container at home that looked just like a urine sample container with a screw on cap. So I sterilized that, did the sample at home before I left for the hospital, put the cap on, put that inside a zip lock bag, and put that inside a paper bag.

Everything was fogged up as I entered the hospital, but I could still see where I was going. It was very hard to breathe, but I could still breathe.

Was all of my PPE overkill? Maybe. I got a few laughs, but I also got a few thumbs up.

I go overboard to protect both myself, and other people.

And one dipshit was arguing with the person at the door about having to wear a mask. Just one. One fucking asshole.

Because that one fucking asshole, just one out of maybe 100 people in the vicinity, can fuck up all of the effort that reasonable people go through to be safe and responsible. EVERYONE has to wear a mask, or else the system doesn't work.

So, to those 1 out of 100 people who have a hard time wearing a mask...put your fucking mask on. Yeah, you have rights, but you have responsibilities also.

And to you people who don't pull their mask up over your nose, or you wear it around your neck...well...fuck you, you stupid shits.

Before checking in, I stood in the middle of the lobby, took out my urine sample, and smelled it to make sure it had not gone bad during the ride to the hospital.
