Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsI just found a leaflet in my door for the GOPer who's running for Congress
against Ilhan Omar. Curiously, there was no mention anywhere on the leaflet that he's a Republican. No mention of Trump, either. I found it interesting that a candidate would campaign without mentioning his party affiliation - probably because neither Trump nor the GOP sell very well in MN CD-5, and Omar will eat his lunch. I wonder if anything like that is happening elsewhere, or if most GOPers up for election or re-election are still attached to Trump like remoras to a shark?

(68,586 posts)for them...looked up the name on line...and no name on literature so of course she was GOP...wrote her a text saying she sounded great and all on paper but since she was GOP, I would never vote for her.

(12,633 posts)Coming from NY, where Democrat is a proud claim, it pissed me off for years, and I refused to vote for those who didnt say Democrat, but eventually, I had to cave, or I wouldnt be voting at all. I hope the day will come in AZ when dems will be proud to claim the affiliation again. Interesting that pubs are starting to disown it.

(11,916 posts)And signs without the party listed are repubs. Or as in the case of one guy who is a continual candidate for various offices, he doesnt list party or office since he changes both pretty much every election cycle.

(22,133 posts)Where are they when rump does something outlandish? Where were they when rump trampled on the rights of everyday Americans to do the ultimate of American traditions, protest?
Where are they (republican House and / or Senate members), period?
It's like they've all fell off the Earth and disappeared.
What's the matter, are they afraid of being tainted w/ the trump brand?
If so, it's way way too late. Everyone of them that stayed silent during all of the crap going on, that stems directly from rump's filthy gutter mouth (and his ranting and raving) will pay the price.
I know that Biden has expressed an interest in reaching out to non-Democrats, and work together to solve/resolve issues, but I can't condone this / go along w/ it, especially when these republican thugs and traitors stayed silent and didn't speak out against the rump excesses.

(115,734 posts)The party endorsement is often in a prominent position on their campaign materials and sometimes on their lawn signs. I guess our candidates are proud of the endorsement; the GOPers not so much. And with good reason.

And/or an appropriate statement.
And/or some appropriate local contradiction.
