A harsh new anti-Trump ad shows how Never Trumpers view the race

For a certain type of Extremely Online critic, one of the big mistakes Democrats made against Donald Trump in 2016 was to waste time attacking his indecency and viciousness.

Such critics still cite Hillary Clinton’s criticism of Trump for mocking a disabled reporter as a marker of a campaign that foolishly chased moderate GOP voters rather than tending to the progressive base, and was out-of-touch with the willingness of voters to elect a vile and nasty thug if he’d shake up the elite establishment.

The Never Trumpers at the Lincoln Project, whose self-assigned task is to move those same GOP voters away from Trump, just launched a very harsh new ad that trades on these themes.

The ad, which will rotate in as part of a $1 million buy in swing states, shows footage of Trump mocking the disabled reporter and making violent threats, and contrasts that with Joe Biden’s now-famous encouragement of a young boy over their shared stuttering disorder. Watch it here:
