Masks are a new slant on racism?

I've thought for a long time that racial prejudice is based solely on appearance (color of skin) because it is so easy to see an obvious difference and racists are stupid, using their reptilian brain and nothing else. Now that smart and compassionate people are wearing masks, it is another visible, and therefore, another easy way for racists to target someone they see as 'other'. I am not minimizing racism, and always hope that someday we will be able to find a way to lift up people who are not thinking with discerment.

At the nursing home yesterday. He was napping so I couldn't see him but he has several funny little posters on his door that he has printed off the internet. One says:

"A Mask is Not a Political Statement. It's an IQ Test"
