Romney to teacher "I didn't ask you a question"

When i was asked to speak with Mitt Romney it seemed like a very important thing to me, and I wanted to put a lot of careful thought into what I would say. So, I went to the round table discussion very optimistic and interested in hearing what he had to say.

When he sat down, one of the first questions he asked was, he said "I understand there is a teacher here today, which one of you is a teacher?"

So, I raised my hand, thinking that's a good thing, he's interested in education, but it wasn't a good thing. I felt like his view was a little old-fashioned and I was surprised by it. He went on to kind of lecture me about schools and how bad they are. He talked bad about the teacher's union. He was talking about the importance of private schools and voucher systems.

At one point, I said to him, "I have an answer for that." And he said, "I didn't ask you a question."

Compared to Bush, who joked about how easy things would have been, if he had been a dictator (it was in the case where Musharaf of Pakistan took control and absolute power in a bloodless coup) A regime with mr Romney would be horrible.. At least GWB understood his limits, or he just doesn't care about been on the front all the time anymore, after been in the job for 8 year...

A Romney Presidency would not be a nice on.. One for all, he looks healthy compared to GWB, and he have today the tools to be dictator in a way no president of the united states have been before, no one of the emergency laws put into place by the Bush administration is off the books yet, just waiting for someone to make a dash for it... And to misuse it grossly if they so need..

I just hope, that enough americans elect Obama as the next president - to vote in Romney as he have shown so disdain for more than 80 percent of the american population... most minorities - women (who is maybe 50 percent of the one who is voting) and then 47 of all the americans voting - it must like 110-120 percent of the populations he have in one way or another managed to piss off by now...

It would be a landslide in most other nations for Obama, if anyone had acted this way - but one thing is sure - I would not be surprised if by cheating, by stealing and by election fraud, you get Romney as your next president... It is something they managed well to do when GWB was in office.. I would not be surprised if they was at least trying on something like this again...

school. At $30-40K/year average for priv. school, it's something everyone can afford with a $7000 voucher, right?

How about we take the best ideas from private and apply them, along with money, to public schools. Like small classes for starters, and a picturesque, clean campus and buildings where the heat and A/C work and windows open. And learning centers for students whose skills are below par. How about the same nutritional, good tasting lunches private schools have, big playgrounds and playing fields, and teachers that are well trained and mentored when they first arrive and not renewed if they aren't good teachers, and that means good with kids as well as knowing how to get ideas across and teach skills and content.

It's not that hard but everyone should go to a $30K private school with a $7K voucher? Good luck with that, Mittens.

He praised how well home schooling works as an example of why the last decade of cuts to public education in this state don't matter.

Said all of the texting that kids are doing is proof that they are quite literate enough thank you.

Said some very paranoid things about environmental issues and a U.N. master plot for world domination.

Used the word hate 3 time when I handed him my candidate's card as he reviewed her endorsers which included the metro newspaper and a state educational organization for public school families.

I left that door depressed.

Sep 2012
Egocentrism is characterized by preoccupation with one's own internal world. Egocentrics regard themselves and their own opinions or interests as being the most important or valid. Self-relevant information is seen to be more important in shaping one’s judgements than do thoughts about others and other-relevant information (Windschitl, Rose, Stalkfleet & Smith, 2008). Egocentric people are unable to fully understand or to cope with other people's opinions and the fact that reality can be different from what they are ready to accept.

Willard truly is a God damned idiot.

St. Peter on a soda cracker the billionaire actually thought it a good idea to be a pricked toward a schoolteacher? Even the people hitching about the cost of their school taxes know there is no call for that kind of rude.

What a dumbass.

Rudeness is not a virtue or a sign of strength. I seriously can not remember any politician - other than Christie - being this rude. Several relatives are teachers, so I posted this to facebook.

Don't get me wrong, I totally believe this woman. I just can't imagine even the slimiest of politicians doing this. He must really think it is his birthright to ascend to the presidential throne.

When Obama wins, I will have 2 celebrations:
1) Because Obama won.
2) Because that richie rich Romney bastard gets to lick his wounds—and I hope he's forced to come back to California to lick the Koch Brothers' wounds, as well. Disgusting people. They make me so proud to be a liberal.

But it needs to be stressed that there are an awful lot of people right now who have chosen to hate unions. Or just the idea of a union. It's been drilled in. And recent economic maneuvers of Wall Street Investment Banks, along with a Congress determined to prevent a recovery so that they can keep people angry with unions is a win for them, Romney, Ryan, Wall Street, Con Artists, For Profit everything, and it'll cause the end of our Republic.

I see it every day. I'm in the middle of "Hate Union" central. Orange County, CA.

I don't just dislike him.

I hate him.

Romney will put my daughter in chains. I fully support Biden's "controversial" statement because it is the truth.

Romney, Bush, and their ilk really do see themselves as our superiors and don't take kindly when we get all uppity and assume we're equals.

Romney made that perfectly clear with his creepy "I didn't ask you a question" comment and it goes to the heart of his character -- he has none. Romney's attitude reflects what's wrong with America rather than what is right with America. It is not a path forward but a path straignt into the ditch.

No she is not talking about me. We lived in Salt Lake City for 4 yrs during the 1970s.

In the Mormon afterlife, Mormon males are going to be rulers of their own planet if they have been good enough on this one. Not sure about Mormon women.

because that's what makes it seem like an ad--easy to dismiss--rather than a statement from a fellow citizen that is hard to ignore.

I've got a big mouth that gets me into trouble frequently. I'm sure I'd have reminded him I wasn't one of his yes men at Bain and there were things he needed to know if he wanted to talk about any of them intelligently.

I'm sure I'd have been tackled at that point, cuffed, and hauled off the premises.

His campaign is a natural extension of the GOP's trite comparisons between a national economy and a private enterprise, or a national budget and a household budget.

And despite the niceties, he's not really interested in dialogue.
