5. The umbrella is an item of modern technology that he has been unable to comprehend

let alone master. For starters, he couldn't seem to figure out how to get it in the door, kind of like those videos of dogs carrying a long stick and they don't know how to get it through a fence (hint for Trump and dogs: Turn it sideways). It looked like someone else inside the airplane actually understood how to fold it up. The weird shoes might be golf shoes, or shoes specially designed to hide cloven hooves.
