Biden needs to go to Wisconsin immediately!

I agree with this wholeheartedly:

Biden, then, should go immediately to Wisconsin, the crucial state that Hillary Clinton infamously ignored. He should meet the Blake family and give them his support and comfort. He should also meet Kenoshans like the small-business owners quoted in the Times piece, who doubt that Democrats care about the wreckage of their dreams. Then, on the burned-out streets, without a script, from the heart, Biden should speak to the city and the country. He should speak for justice and for safety, for reform and against riots, for the crying need to bring the country together. If he says these things half as well as Julia Jackson did, we might not have to live with four more years of Trump.

This could be the election right here and now. Trump wants to push the narrative laid out during last week's convention. Democrats pushed the pandemic issue, trump is trying to take it away by creating riots in the streets. It'll all come down to how Biden handles things right now whether or not trump grabs the momentum. Once momentum is lost it's very hard to get it back.

Jacob Blake's dad says he spoke to Joe Biden and Kamala Harris for a full hour and he found it comforting because it felt like he was talking to family.

Blake's father, who's also named Jacob, says he and Blake's mother's were nervous at first to talk with the Democrats' Presidential ticket ... but says Biden and Harris calmed them down. The elder Jacob said, "I don't think people understand the worry of a mother. That's her baby."

He revealed how the conversation went down Friday morning on CNN's "New Day" ... saying it felt "like I was speaking to my uncle and one of my sisters -- literally, literally." Jacob's father added, "It felt like they knew what was going on. And, they didn't act like they were in a hurry to go anywhere. They spent time with us."

from a Trump win is pretty silly. He needs to go to Wisconsin sure, and Michigan, and PA, and FL, and AZ.

But whether he goes this upcoming week or effectively the week after, is not going to be the difference between winning and losing.

And if it's THAT close. If it's SO close that Biden is a week away from losing? Then we are fucked anyways. The polls are all wrong.

I don't believe that.

No Joe can't sit around and never go to places, but if they have a solid plan, then waiting a week isn't going to be deadly.

She spent more money in advertising there than Obama did in 2012. She had a larger ground operation to GOTV than Obama did in 2012. She didn't hold rallies there because she chose to hold rallies in states where polling showed a closer race.

We can debate whether she should have made sure to hold a rally or two in all battleground states. A study shortly after the election indicated that this was not a significant factor in the outcome of the election. But we can still discuss whether that was something that should have been done differently.

Either way, it isn't accurate to say that she ignored the state. BTW, I am the only one who remembers that originally the media claimed that she ignored Michigan too? Ultimately they dropped that, but at one point it was as much in the narrative as Wisconsin was. I guess that is how it works when your narrative isn't based on facts and details, but rather what you can get away with claiming.

28. Too late, Trump to Kenosha on Tuesday
Sat Aug 29, 2020, 09:16 PM
Aug 2020

Its getting frustrating how bad Democrats are at national politics in regards to playing the electoral college. For goodness sakes Trump basically said he was going to defund Social Security 2 weeks ago by eliminating the payroll tax that funds it. Somehow, we are not able to get that message out. Biden and Harris should have held small events in PA, MI, WI where they constantly hammered the safety of Social Security. People have short attention spans, hammer it while it is fresh.

I said a month ago my white friends were flipping on the BLM protests. Sure enough new polls show that the independents have totally become against the protests and view them as violent. Unless its fake protestors who are really right wingers, all the bottle throwing and setting fires is going to get Trump re-elected. One poor business owner at a pizza shop in Kenosha literally asked the protestors if they were trying to get Trump re-elected. Honestly, that is exactly what these protests are going to do.

Now Biden sits and waits instead of acting on Kenosha. Should have been there today with his wife, hold a press conference, vow to rebuild, vow to work with citizens. Also meet with some local cops and become a bridge between the 2 groups.

Trump heading there Tuesday and they said he will focus on the damaged buildings. So Kenosha will be a 100% win for Trump with white independents.

This is looking like 2016 again. Win the popular vote by a large margin, lose PA, MI, WI independents. We have to stop thinking the swing voters care if Trump uses the White House as a campaign prop or if he calls people nasty names. They do not care. They care about health care, law and order, the economy. Biden trails Trump by 12 points in polls about who is better on the economy.

Its frustrating, but you can see this becoming 2016 all over again, even with a freaking pandemic, 10% unemployment, and defunding SS. Its ALL about the white swing voters in PA, MI, WI and we are losing them fast when we had them 2 months ago.

Biden/Harris need to get off zoom and get into these swing states, especially WI and MN where the shootings happened. They need to voice support for the peaceful protests while strongly condemning violence. They need to stress that Trump and his divisive rhetoric is the source of much of the turmoil in the country, along with RW agitators - not just the left.

They could do socially distanced outdoor events, meet with leaders etc.

Agree with your comments on the economy, Biden needs to get it through to voters that the stock market and economy are not the same thing. He needs to speak more directly to the white and latino working class, which in addition to black voters and female voters are crucial to any Dem win.

running a "front porch campaign" from Wilmington - a campaign strategy that before this year I assumed was a relic of the 19th century. I mean, it's not like past nominees of both parties for the last 60+ years campaigned hard for months just for the hell of it. In 2004, I went to a rally for John Kerry in Iowa on a hot, humid July Saturday morning - I doubt John Kerry found standing under a scorching sun in Iowa more pleasant than simply sitting in his air conditioned home in Boston - he, like past nominees, went through these ordeals because they thought it was absolutely necessary to do so.
