America is ready for a civil war.

If it will happen or not I dont know, all I can say is that we are closer than we have been for a long time. I couldn't tell you that it would be more likely if Trump or Biden wins, and that in itself is troubling. Of course I support Biden, but I dont really have a lot of hope that it will bring the country together. I believe the 30% that support Trump will never accept a Biden win and I think the rest will never accept a Trump win. The left and the right are already shooting each other and that will escalate in the coming months. I predict that by October we will have instances of all out warfare on some city streets between the left and the right. Trump will have declared martial law in some states and cities and will crack down on Antifa, BLM, and left wing protestors with federal troops. Of course as it should this will lead to a huge backlash and more will join the fight against Trump and this will escalate everything. Anyone watching the news can see how this thread is going to play out, most though dont realize that Trump will do what no one thinks he will do because they expect him to act normal when he is not going to do that at all. He will escalate and allow it to escalate it to the point of a civil war. Period. Its what he has been doing the whole time.

1. Carl Bernstien has characterised what we are in now as a cold civil war.

It is a very small percentage that are actually involved in violence. The right is losing as the country becomes more diverse. They are hanging on thru things like voter suppression and gerrymandering.

I also think a shooting war is unlikely since many are non-political and we live next to each other. Skirmishes in the cities is likely all that it will amount to.

The right has done all it can to make that misrepresentation.

It's warring perceptions and the culture wars rather than a civil war at present, although admittedly things have amped up. Trump fans the flames of division, and sends thinly-veiled wolf whistle signals to racists, rightists, and gun nuts, as well as to others in which the propensity for violence was already present. The true narcissist then safely feeds off the conflict that he has stirred up, confident that his minions will do his dirty work for him...

8. America is collectively losing its mind as Trump is throwing gas in the fire.

Trump wants open warfare in the streets. We’re basically going to have two insurgencies fighting it out and killing each other.

This could have ended if Trump at least extended BLM a half-hearted olive branch. Instead, he birthed an increasingly armed insurgency, which is at war with a now highly-armed insurgency. Trump is supporting one of the insurgencies, which will cause it to grow. As that insurgency grows, it will become more emboldened and aggressive. As a result, the opposing insurgency will also grow. The police will be less able to control the chaos as it spirals out of control.

We need to stop this. If the sides were switched, I would be saying the same thing. Am I really in the minority now for thinking that America’s problems can be solved with peaceful protests and words rather than guns? It increasingly seems that way.

You are aware that the Fairness Doctrine applied only to the public airways, not cable or satellite?

IOW, Faux Snooze and other RW cable shows would not be affected in any way by the Fairness Doctrine.

We have an election coming up and the right would like nothing more than to ratchet up the violence.

I'm not going to feed that as it doesn't serve us well.

He wants the USA to go the way of the USSR, to break up into several smaller polities. No one would win a civil war and keep the country together now. Things have changed since 1865.
