Not the Onion: Roger Stone's "re-commitment to Christianity."

https://www.tennessean.com/story/news/2020/08/30/roger-stone-appearance-mt-juliet-church-god-spared-my-life-purpose/3433049001/

"Roger Stone told an energetic audience Sunday at a Mt. Juliet church that "God spared my life for a purpose."

The polarizing political operative has come forward about his recent re-commitment to Christianity after Stone describes himself falling away from the faith. Stone was invited to speak at Global Vision Bible Church by Pastor Greg Locke.

"I've spoken in political meetings, union halls, topless clubs, houses of ill-repute," Stone said. "This is the first time I've spoken at a church and I've got to tell you it felt good, it felt great. It might be my first, but it most definitely (will) not be my last."
....

Politics and the upcoming presidential campaign were also substantial to Stone's message as he was supportive of Trump. Stone described the upcoming election as a struggle between "good and evil" and the "godly and ungodly."...(more revolting charlatanism at link)

"God spared my life for a purpose"? When was his life ever in danger? And maybe Stone's life's purpose is just to serve as a bad example.

Jesus wept. Or maybe he just laughed.

When Stone abandons Trump, denounces Nixon, gets his tattoo removed and goes to church regularly....I might buy it.

A winger like Roger wouldn't go anywhere near a union hall unless he went there to bomb it!

How interesting he includes it with "topless clubs" and "houses of ill-repute." The "house of ill-repute" would be his house. He and his Cuban-American wife were known as "swingers" decades ago, as they made no secret of it, advertising it publicly.

How odd he decided he had to stuff "union halls" in there. Anyone knows he wouldn't be found anywhere near working people.

And reinforce that a church is not allowed to have political programs.
