(17,087 posts)I had some strong competition, as the results testify. The closest results for the top three that I can remember, and rightly so. Celebration did a wonderful job of running the contest too!
I'd like to pay my respects to two of my competitors' work, if I may. Rowing at Sunrise, by Callalily, and Poppy, by MichaelSoE, were really outstanding!
Crossing Imogene was taken this August from an overlook near the top of the Imogene Pass, the second highest vehicle pass in Colorado, between Ouray and Telluride in the San Juan Mountains.
(This is the pass here and the picture I took immediately before Crossing Imogene:
More orange! )

(15,812 posts)I hope people take you up on heading on over to the Photography Group.
I was so happy to see some new entrants and finalists in the September contest. That excited me.
I'm getting ready to check out your Photobucket thread.
And I concur in your singling out two of the wonderful finalists. I loved both those photos. When people vote for "winners" they are making very fine distinctions. There really isn't much separating them.

(22,380 posts)It's been a long time since we had a fight for the finish like this, if ever, and it was to be predicted. I could not make up my mind and missed voting, when I said it's now or never, I found the contest was over.
Congrats to all, especially the top 3, they all are arresting photos.
I look forward to the next contest run by Bluedigger (extra congrats for winning that honor - I remember the last one he ran about American Historical Monuments fondly, because I won it.

(18,640 posts)That my entry didn't finish in last place against those inspiring and imaginative photos makes me feel like a winner indeed.
Congratulations all.
Edited to thank Celebration in particular for hosting a fun exhibit.
